Tell-MAMA – a national body to monitor anti-Muslim hate crime reported a 300% rise in Islamophobic incidents since the horrific attacks in Paris on November 14, 2015. After an exciting first six months of 2016 which saw the likes of J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey in the country, music lovers might have been a bit worried about what could be coming next. Everything had kind of gone quiet on the international act front (Are our concerts also converting to 90%?) However, all that changed this week when Rocking The Daisies and Superbalist In The City (The sister festivals which take place on the same weekend in Cape Town and Joburg respectively) announced that Mac Miller would be headlining both festivals. The US rapper has been popular in South Africa ever since he broke out in 2011 and the announcement got a lot of his fans excited for what he could bring to stage. Europe's migration policies are not so different from Trump's

The European response to the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" of illegal migration and especially the controversial separation of children from their parents has largely been one of outrage and disgust. "We do not share the same model of civilization," said French government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux in June. "Has ever a US president displayed such a total lack of empathy, such a deficit of common human decency?"  thundered Britain's Observer newspaper  in an editorial. But to the US President, it's Europe that's got it all wrong. "Crime in Germany is way up,"  he tweeted in June,  although the statistics show otherwise. "Big mistake made all over Europe in allowing millions of people in who have so strongly and violently changed their culture!" Trump added -- a wild assertion.
